Episode 24: Goya’s lil majomies - Los Caprichos (part one)

We are officially back for Season Dos of Art Slice with Francisco Goya’s epic series of 80 prints - Los Caprichos.

But before diving in, we look at Goya’s early career which coincided with the rise of French imported Enlightenment ideals and the rejection of said ideals in the Majo/a street style of the lower classes.

Topics include trolling gods, straw mannequins, art worms, French simps, and the uncanny parallels between the lil homies / lil palermos and Goya’s Majomies.
